iPv6 Hands-on: New Features & Opportunities - Learn from the source

This course has been developed by Silvia Hagen, Sunny Connection, an experienced expert on IPv6 and author of many successful books. The trainers teaching for Sunny Connection are experienced networkengineers and have been trained and certified to teach theses courses by Silvia Hagen. The hands-on labs and practicall information about migration scenarios and co-existence with IPv4 provide you with a good foundation to apply it to your specific environment and requirements, plan for your migration and set up labs and test installations as well as evaluate vendor support specific to your needs. This course is usually taught in German. For inhouse courses and if you have more than 4 people we can set up English courses individually. In this case please contact Silvia Hagen..

«Great mix of theory and practice with good labs. Based on real world examples Silvia explained what the success factors are for IPv6 integration. This showed me several important issues that I will have to take care of. Generally I have received a very good insight into the whole topic. Please keep going!»

David Hirsbrunner, Emmi Schweiz AG, 29.01.2016

Each student has his own virtualized lab environment with 3 routers, clients, a DHCPv6 and a DNS server. Wireshark is used to analyze communication. The easiest way to get started, play around withoout putting your production environment at risk.

  • With the understanding gained in this course you can identify what IPv6 brings to your network, and what it's impact will be.

  • You can describe the important new features of IPv6 from a techical perspective and get and understanding of how they affect your current architecture and processes.

  • You can compare IPv4 functionality with IPv6 functionality

  • You have a good overview of transition and co-existence mechanisms

  • You have become famiiar with the configurations on routers, clients and of DNS and DHCPv6IPv6

Target Audience

Technical decision makers, IT and network architects, network analysts, IT consultants, network, system and security engineers, as well as application developers and vendors, who want a well grounded overview of all the new functionality of IPv6.
